They say that Formula One is the pinnacle of motorsport however, us fans of V8 Supercars in Australia would beg to differ. Still, being a Formula 1 fan attending one of the Formula 1 Grand Prix races was a bucket list thing for me. So I did my research so I could attend a Formula 1 race, and that race was the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix. That was some 10 years ago and even though I don’t go every year, I always watch.

In this post, I’m going to cover what you need to know to attend a Formula 1 race. So if you want to watch cars reach incredible speeds of around 200km/h (124mph) driven by the world’s best drivers, then read on.

Are you ready – start your engines!

What is Formula 1?

For any car novices, Formula One, commonly known as Formula 1 or F1 is the highest class of international racing for open-wheel single-seater formula racing cars. Wow! In this type of motorsport, teams compete in a series of races, known as Grand Prix races that are held in different countries around the world. They usually last for 3-4 days where you get to see the cars in practice sessions, qualifying time trials to see where each car will start on the grid before the race.

Why attend a Formula 1 Race?

It is probably the atmosphere as a whole as to explain why attend a Formula 1 race. It is the vibration of the cars, the noise of the cars and the possibility of seeing your favourite driver!

Why not attend a Formula 1 Race?

The noise is one good reason not to attend. The noise can be deafening. And to be quite honest, I have found, depending on the location of seat, that you only get a fleeting glimpse of the cars. This is because they go so fast. If you blink you can miss them going past! So is spending all that money on a ticket worth it? I sometimes feel you get to see more on the TV! But you make up your own mind.

How to Attend a Formula One Race?

Each year, the dates of the races are announced. Then each country will organise to sell tickets to attend the event in their country. You need to be quick to get a ticket as they are often snapped up in hours of being released. Check out the F1 Ticket Store website for details on purchasing a ticket, particularly if you are interested to attend F1 in another country.

How Does a Formula 1 Race Weekend Work?

You’ve bought your ticket and race weekend has arrived. I believe, after having gone to a couple of F1 races now that the best way to enjoy it is to come prepared. It can be a very long day, and weekend if you have bought a ticket for every day. Following are my tried and tested tips and tricks to help you make the most of attending a F1 carnival.

How Does a Formula 1 Race Weekend Work?

Firstly, if you are a newbie to going to a F1 race, you will need to know how a Formula 1 weekend for the Grand Prix race works. You have probably bought a ticket to multiple days, so yep, find your spot and watch the practices, qualifying and the race.

How to Attend a Formula 1 Race

The F1 calendar has over two dozen races which are in different countries around the world. To attend a Formula 1 race you will need to do the following:

Choose which race you would like to attend – refer to the list.

Purchase a ticket.

Organise transport and accommodation. Plus transport to and from the event.

Attend and enjoy.

F1 Calendar 2026

Australia – 6-8 March
China – 13-15 March
Japan – 27-29 April
Bahrain – 10-12 April
Saudi Arabia – 17-19 April
Miami, USA – 1-3 May
Canada – 22-24 May
Monaco – 5-7 June
Barcelona-Catalunya – 12-14 June
Austria – 26-28 June
Great Britain – 3-5 July
Belgium – 17-19 July
Hungary – 24-26 July
Netherlands – 21-23 August
Italy – 4-6 September
Spain – 11-13 September
Azerbaijan – 25-27 September
Singapore – 9-11 October
USA – 23-25 October
Mexico – 30 October – 1 November
Brazil – 6-8 November
Las Vegas, USA – 19-21 November
QATAR – 27-29 November
Abu Dhabi – 4-6 December

Types of Tickets to Attend a Formula 1 Race

There are different tickets available to attend a Formula 1 Grand Prix. Sometimes they sell out very quickly, so it is a good idea to have in your mind the type of ticket you would like. Tickets include:

General Admission. General admission comes with no reserved seating. Sometimes you’ll fight it out to find a spot in one of the many grassy sections on the track.

Grandstand, uncovered seating. Each Formula 1 race offers grandstand seating under various names – usually of racing related people to that country. There will also be different classes of seats and you should be able to see online which seating is uncovered.

Grandstand, covered seating. Grandstand covered seating are the prime seating offering the best spots to see the race. Possibly opposite pit lane! These tickets are generally the most expensive.

How much does it cost to attend a Formula 1 Race?

I cannot give you an exact price here because it will vary from country to country. So, get yourself a check list.

Cost of the Ticket

Transport to/from the City (don’t forget to have a valid passport and the appropriate visa if coming from another country)

Accommodation

Sightseeing in the city, if you’re planning on seeing some of the city

Transport to/from the track (taxis, shuttles, rental car, parking costs)

Food at the track (can you take your own with you)

Any merchandise you may want to purchase

What to Wear to the Track

Dress appropriately for the day and particularly the weather. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes.

What to Take to the Track

Following is my suggested checklist of items to take to the track.

Ticket

Water bottle with water and maybe electrolytes, especially if it’s a hot day! I take my collapsable water bottle most places.

Ear plugs (very important to numb the noise)

Rain coat (always bring a raincoat!)

Spare power pack for your phone to get photos and video

Snacks

Sunscreen, Hat and Sunglasses

Small towel or beach towel to aid with sun protection, sweating – or simply to sit on if are in the general area.

Binoculars, if you’re sitting far from the action

Attending a Formula 1 Race: Final Takeaways

I think attending a Formula 1 race is truly one for the bucket list! So if you want to go to a Formula 1 race, do your research, pack appropriately for the day/s but above all – ENJOY IT!

I sometimes wonder how on earth I managed travelling the world without a mobile phone. When I first moved abroad to live in London on a working holiday I was totally reliant on a landline or public phone booth to keep in contact with family and friends and to get work from my agency. Today, wifi and data are my lifeline for my travelling lifestyle. I use them for everything – paying for stuff, booking accommodation, keeping in touch with family and friends and sharing on social media. In this post I’ll help you to understand what Sims and eSims are, why they are great for international travel and which are the best SIMS and eSIMS for travel.

In the early days of my solo travels in the 1980s I didn’t know what cellular data was – no one did! So let’s start at the beginning, and by the end of this post, you’ll know everything about SIMS and eSIMs. Then you can make the appropriate choice between the two to keep yourself connected (if you want to) while you travel abroad.

What is a Physical Sim and an eSim?

Already know? Then Check out the best SIMs and eSIMs for travel available.

What is a Physical SIM?

A physical SIM (subscriber identity module) card is that card that goes in your mobile phone. It plays an important role in your phone and without one, it won’t work. Basically a physical SIM has been designed to connect the phone to mobile phone networks. It also authenticates you as the subscriber by having a phone number and it stores information such as phone directories, messages and ensures you are accurately billed for the services you use.

What is an eSIM?

An eSIM (embedded SIM (subscriber identity module)) is a digital version of the physical SIM card. Most newer cell phones these days are eSIM compatible meaning, a digital SIM card is built directly into your mobile device.

Physical SIM vs eSIM

Both physical SIMs and eSIMs have a place in our busy lives. There are advantages and disadvantages to using both. Let’s look at some of the pros and cons of the best SIMs and eSIMS for travel:

Pros of a Physical SIM

A physical SIM provides you with access to the local network.

Cons of a Physical SIM

A physical SIM can get damaged, lost or even stolen.

You need to get a physical SIM from a physical store. Or have it mailed to you when you need to switch networks of different countries.

Physical SIMs are not compatible in every country, meaning you need to purchase a different SIM for different countries/areas.

Swapping SIM cards can be cumbersome. Finding a local SIM in a foreign country might not always be straightforward and you may have to deal with people speaking a different language to you – which could cause some confusion.

Pros of eSIMS

You do not need to visit a physical store to get one. You can purchase online making an eSIM more convenient, particularly if you arrive at an airport in another country at an awkward time of day and the kiosk selling SIM cards aren’t open. eSIMS can be set up in advance so you can have access as soon as you land in a new place. Activation can be seamless and can be done by scanning a QR code, clicking on an email or done through an app – how easy is this!

eSIMs are safe from physical damage because they aren’t physical but digital.

eSIMs eliminate the need for swapping cards when changing networks/phone numbers when changing countries, making this extremely attractive and beneficial for travelers, as it allows you to switch between local carriers seamlessly.

There are cost savings using an eSIM. Traditional roaming charges can add up quickly, but eSIMS offer competitive rates for international data and calls. You can choose plans that align with your calling and data needs providing you with flexibility.

Flexibility to choose your carrier and to choose your plan for the length of time you require it. Only need a week-long plan, maybe a month? You can purchase a plan for the length of time you will be traveling in the country and, you can extend it.

Some eSIM-enabled devices allow you to have multiple phone numbers on a single device. This is great for digital nomads who might want to keep work separate to play!

You can even get multi-device connectivity through hotspot use.

eSIM technology is very eco-friendly as the manufacturing process and disposal of plastic SIM cards is eliminated.

eSIMs offer robust security features more so than physical SIMS. The technology uses encryption to protect your data and ensure a secure connection.

Cons of eSIMS

At this time, the technology is new and not fully embraced by all countries/areas but this should change as eSIM technology is embraced.

Choosing an eSIM

Not all countries have eSIM technology, nor the infrastructure in place however, some countries are embracing the technology more so than others. Before traveling, check your device’s compatibility:

Is your device eSIM-enabled and unlocked.

Do you fully own the phone as you may not be able to get an eSIM if your current phone plan includes payments for your phone.

Does your device require a carrier-specific eSIM?

As you have read, there are many benefits of using eSIMs for international travel. If your phone is compatible, then you could purchase an eSIM for your travels. If not, you can purchase a physical SIM card in the country/area of your travels. Some countries embracing eSIMS are countries in Asia, Europe and South America.

Are You Ready to Stay Connected with the best SIMs or eSIMs for travel?

Staying connected while traveling internationally is more important than ever, but no longer needs to be difficult or stressful. When I first started travelling solo, mobile phones weren’t around! But like many, I have embraced technology – no more standing in queues for me to make a phone call from inside a big red London phone booth! With the information I have provided in this post, you can now make an informed decision as to how you will stay connected as your travel, live and work abroad.

Just because you don’t eat meat and other animal bi-products like eggs and dairy doesn’t mean you should not travel because you are worried about what you will eat. Yes, it can be a challenge as not all countries are set up for vegetarians and vegans. But this shouldn’t stop you from eating well while traveling. Here are my best tips to help vegetarians and vegans to eat well while traveling the world.

What is the difference between a Vegetarian and a Vegan?

A vegetarian is someone who doesn’t eat meat while a vegan is someone who doesn’t eat meat and the bi-products of animals like eggs and dairy. If you are neither of these, then you may find it a bit confusing as to why they have trouble finding a decent vegetarian meal or vegan meal while traveling the world, particularly when all that needs to happen is removal of the meat! Right! Wrong. Not all countries are geared to non-meat meals.

Give me meat baby!

Take America for instance, and Texas in particular which is America’s largest beef producing state. Therefore, many dishes are all about beef – beef steaks, BBQ beef ribs and hamburgers. Not an overly vegetarian and vegan friendly place! So how, when you are vegetarian or vegan do you survive in places like this? What will you eat as a vegetarian or vegan?

Tips for Vegetarians and Vegans to Eat Well While Traveling

To help you eat well while traveling, here are my best tips for vegetarians and vegans.

1. Travel with Vegetarian or Vegan Snacks

If you are worried of not finding foods to satisfy your needs, carry back-up vegetarian or vegan snacks. If you ar able to bring them along, that will be helpful for the times you cannot find an appropriate vegetarian or vegan meal. Things like roasted chickpeas, nuts, dried fruit or trail mix are good options. Other things to carry with you are instant foods and non-perishable food items. You know the ones, where you add hot water to a cup of noodles.

2. Research local restaurants ahead of time

Before you head out for dinner spend a little time researching local restaurants. Check out HappyCow.net which lists vegetarian and vegan restaurants around the world. Have a look at their on-line menus to see what vegetarian and / or vegan food meal options they have available. Even when a restaurant doesn’t boast a wide vegetarian or vegan selection, they may be willing to omit or swap a few ingredients for you. And some chefs may even be happy to make your a special meal. If not, I hope they have a salad option for you or that you have some snacks! If your research doesn’t yield results, don’t be afraid to ask a local about vegetarian and vegan restaurants. The receptionist at your accommodation may just know the place!

3. Know where the nearest grocery store is

Map out where the nearest grocery store is in the your destination. Then visit to stock up on the food you like to eat.

4. Seek out local fresh produce markets

I love visiting local fresh produce markets. Stall holders have some of the freshest local produce around. Replenish your vegetarian and vegan stocks.

5. Stay somewhere with a kitchen

Loaded scrambled eggs – one of my favourite vegetarian dishes I make when I have access to a kitchen with cooking utensils.

Staying somewhere with a kitchen is always a good option. As well as helping to save dollars on always having to buy meals, you can save heaps by making them yourself. Also, you know exactly what is going into your meal and you can make it as vegetarian or vegan as you want! So stay somewhere such as a hostel with a kitchen or an apartment that has a kitchen or kitchenette. Even if you just have a microwave and or a fridge in your accommodation, you can store vegetarian and vegan food and make simple meals.

Some of my favourite Vegetarian Recipes and Vegan Meals

Stir Fried Veggies
Loaded Scrambled Eggs
Curry Lentil and Pumpkin Soup
Feta & Spinach Frittata
Mushroom Risotto
Vegetarian Pizza
Salad Sandwich
Hommus Dip and Crackers, Celery Sticks or Carrot Sticks
Prawn and Avocado Sushi

I could go on……..

6. Stay somewhere all-inclusive

There are many all-inclusive resorts and accommodation options as you travel the world. All-inclusive meaning your airfare, accommodation and food is included in the price. Sometimes, only breakfast may be offered. If your accommodation is offering food in your accommodation price ensure to take full advantage of what food is available. Every breakfast buffet I have been to has included plenty of fruit, cereal, yoghurt, bread, coffee and tea. Eat up well to last you during the day. If possible, put together some of the food to last you through the day. Perhaps a sandwich or fresh fruit.

7. Join vegetarian or vegan groups on Facebook

I have found by doing a search on Facebook there are plenty of vegetarian and vegan groups offering advice and making suggestions of where to eat. If visiting a new city, I would do a quick search to see if there is a group in that city. You may just find the best ‘vegetarian’ or ‘vegan’ food ever!

8. Fly with airlines offering vegetarian and vegan meals in-flight

As you travel the world try to book your flight with airlines offering vegetarian and vegan in-flight meals. Usually you need to pre-order at the time of booking your ticket. Having appropriate food when you fly is one way of surviving a long flight. Airlines aren’t known for the quality of their meals so I suggest take your own vegan and vegetarian snacks on your flight.

Are You Ready to Enjoy Vegetarian and Vegan Foods as You Travel?

Just because you are vegetarian or vegan doesn’t mean you can’t eat well while traveling the world. Do you have any travel tips for vegetarians and vegans to eat well while while traveling? I’d love to hear from you.

Are you sick of the daily grind? Then have you considered taking some time off from work or school to explore a far-flung destination or destinations? Maybe it’s time you should! But how are you going to do it? Well, why not take a gap year or sabbatical and travel. Sound good? If this has sparked your interest, read on. This post explains what a gap year and a sabbatical are and provides reasons to take one. It will answer your questions, share the pros and cons of a gap year or sabbatical and help you to plan a successful gap year abroad for yourself. Here goes.

What is a Gap Year?

A gap year is usually a year long break taken by students either after graduating from high school and before they start college or after college and before starting their career.

What is a Sabbatical?

A sabbatical is an adult gap year or career break. It is someone who has a job and wants to take a break from it. The sabbatical requires the employee to return to their original employer after their leave period is finished. Most are over 30 years of age who don’t qualify for a working holiday but still want to travel abroad.

How Long is a Gap Year or Sabbatical?

A gap year or sabbatical is usually for a year, but it can be as long as you want it to be. There is no rule that is has to be a year. A gap year or sabbatical is more about what you do with your time and not about how long you do it for. A 2 month sabbatical or gap year can be just as rewarding as a 12 month gap year or sabbatical.

What Do You Do on a Gap Year or Sabbatical?

This isn’t just a break from studies or career – it’s an opportunity for personal, professional and academic growth. It’s a time when you explore your interests and gain real-world experiences. There are so many things you can do during this break. You can learn a new language in another country, just travel, maybe volunteer abroad or go on a working holiday visa. The world is your oyster and it is a time for self-discovery.

Who Usually Takes a Gap Year?

While gap years or sabbaticals are usually associated with school leavers, undergraduates and postgraduates, a break is a great option for people of all ages and professions. Having a mid-life crisis? Why not take a ‘grown up gap year’. You’re never too old to take a break and invest in yourself on a gap year or sabbatical!

Reasons to Take a Gap Year or Sabbatical

You want to:

travel the world before settling into your chosen profession or college / university course.

Need a break from the 9-5 life or academic monotonous routine.

Get out of your comfort zone and develop new skills and independence.

Discover different cultures and just generally travel and see and do new things.

Pros and Cons of taking a Gap Year or Sabbatical

There are many reasons to take a gap year or sabbatical. Here are 10 reasons why you should.

1. Self-Discovery and Personal Growth

One of the most valuable aspects of a gap year is the opportunity for self-discovery. The time you take helps you focus on your passions and interests and allows you time to develop and grow them. What you discover about yourself during this time is often invaluable to future endeavours including further education and career pursuits.

2. Real World Experience

During your gap year or sabbatical you can pursue your interests out in the real world. This gives you real world experience which can help build your resilience.

3. Cultural Exposure and Immersion

If you decide to move abroad to live and work in another country during your year off you will have cultural exposure and immersion. Learning about other ways of life opens up your mind which is invaluable in this globalised world we live in.

4. Career Exploration

A sabbatical or gap year provides a fantastic opportunity for career exploration. You could find a job in your chosen career or a career you are interested in to gain first hand experience. The things you learn could influence your chosen career path to change, or confirm the one you have chosen, is the one for you.

5. Academic Break

After many years of structured schooling, time off on a sabbatical or gap year can mitigate academic burnout and fatigue. Having time away from your studies or career can recharge your mental batteries. Then you can return refreshed, and with fresh perspective and ready to carry on where you left off.

6. Skills Development

A gap year or sabbatical can provide the opportunity for you to learn new skills. The skills can be from an interest or a different type of work. The more skills you develop can help to make your more employable in the future.

7. Networking

When you take time off on a gap year or sabbatical, and depending what you do during this time, you have the opportunity to meet new people. These new people may become life-long friends.

8. Develop Independence

Depending on your age and whether you are a solo traveler, even if you are traveling with your partner or with kids, you will develop independence and self-reliance. If you are traveling in a foreign country you will develop practical skills to survive – it is sometimes sink or swim! Which is why, going on a gap year or sabbatical can boost your confidence and develop your independence.

9. Resume Building

Without knowing it, the time you are away and developing new skills and interests, you are building your resume up. Employers often look favourably on people who have taken a sabbatical or gap year because of the new skills they have learnt and can bring to a job. Maybe you learnt a new language and you need to use this language to speak with clients or you learnt how to do something and so you can adapt these new skills to a new career.

Cons of Taking a Gap Year or Sabbatical

As with everything there are negatives. Here are some negatives to taking a gap year or sabbatical.

1. The Cost

How will you cover your living costs during your gap year or sabbatical? Possibly savings or perhaps from the work you will pick up while on your year off. The cost of going on a gap year or sabbatical can often stop you from living your dream.

2. Interfere with Career Progression

Depending on where you are working, your decision to take time off may put you ‘behind’ in your professional career or classmates in school. It could mean your income is not the same as your peers or it can take longer to graduate.

3. Mental Challenges

Though traveling the world sounds romantic, it can be stressful and have its mental challengers that can affect your health. Yes, it is great to see and do new things, but the decisions of what to see and do and where to stay can sometimes prove too much for some.

How to Plan a Gap Year or Sabbatical?

Now you have decided to take a sabbatical or gap year, it’s time to start planning it. Ask yourself:

Where do you want to go while on your gap year or sabbatical?

What do you want to do?

How long will your sabbatical or gap year be? If you are employed, how long will your employer let you have off or do you need to quit your job?

Are there skills you want to improve? A language to learn!

How are you going to pay for your gap year or sabbatical?

What to Do During Your Gap Year

You can do whatever you want to during your gap year or sabbatical. There is no wrong way to spend your time. Travel is mostly the main one. But there are other things you can do.

Immerse yourself in another culture to learn the language

Volunteer overseas – there are a number of organisations that can help you volunteer on a project. Such as WWOOF an world-wide organisation where you can exchange work in agriculture for food and accommodation.

Get an internship

Have a working holiday in another country

Travel to as many countries as you can

Turn an interest or passion into a career – Live and Work Abroad as a Scuba Dive Instructor. Or Live and Work Abroad as a Ski Instructor. What other interest do you have that you could develop while on a sabbatical or gap year?

What to Pack for a Gap Year or Sabbatical

Every individual is different, as is your situation, so spend some time thinking about your intentions, your goals, and your specific situation before opting for, or against a gap year or sabbatical. Whatever you choose to do, I hope you have a good time doing it! Have you had a chance to take a gap year or sabbatical? What was your experience, and what advice would you give to prospective travelers interested in the same?

After covid lockdowns, many of us are itching to hit the road and travel our own country or go abroad. The world is our oyster now and as we can travel wherever we want to, many of us are. But if you can’t go on a holiday or quit your job and live abroad, then a staycation may be what you need. Why? Here’s 10 reasons why to take a staycation could be the break from the grind you need.

What is a Staycation?

Have you been hearing the word staycation a lot lately? Well what is a staycation? If you Google the word staycation, you will discover in short, the word means to spend a holiday in one’s home country rather than abroad. Your staycation is taken from your home or near your home where you could do day trips or weekend trips or longer trips in another part of your home country. Sounds good right! Well, it should, because there are so many wonderful places to go and experience.

How Long is a Staycation?

A staycation can be as long as you want it to be. A day, a weekend, a week or more. But you can make it as long as you want to suit the time you have available.

How Do You Make a Staycation Feel Like a Vacation?

Easy, do things on your staycation that you would do on any vacation. You could:

Sleep in and stay up late!

Check out the tourist spots and take lots of pictures.

Lay by the pool all day!

Enjoy the local cuisine.

Book some accommodation and stay overnight.

I think you get the drift!

Why Go on a Staycation? 10 Reasons to Take One

I think the benefits of a staycation far out way any negatives so here are the positives to have a staycation.

1. Easy To Plan And Execute

The first reason why I like staycations is because the planning and executing of a trip abroad can be stressful and fatiguing. Having a staycation at home is far easier to plan and execute. There is less stress in the planning which can cause fatigue.

2. Save Money – One Of The Top Reasons To Take A Staycation

Yep, a staycation at home is far less expensive than a big trip abroad. You can go on a day staycation at minimal cost as there are many ‘free things to do’. For instance, I could catch a bus into the main city near me and see many free things. My current closest big city is Melbourne and there are many free things to see and do. That’s a pretty cheap day-cation, right!

3. Minimal Packing is Required for a Staycation

Depending on the length of your staycation, you will have minimal packing requirements. But still, for any staycation have a packing checklist, even if it is a packing list for a day at the beach. A packing list will help you to not forget anything.

4. More Time to Enjoy Your Staycation

With a staycation you won’t need to endure a long flight to get to your destination. Though some internal country flights can be long, like Sydney to Perth or LA to New York. Also, no more killing time at the airport waiting for a flight. And there is no jet lag to worry about. A staycation can often be within an hour or two of home giving you more time to enjoy the place you are visiting for your staycation. Less travel time means more time can spent enjoying where you are.

5. A Staycation Gives You A Chance to Explore The Beauty of The Neighbourhood

We often forget to see all the incredible attractions and sights in our own backyard and take them for granted. On a staycation, you will have the chance to visit local sights and attractions. Be a tourist in your own home town.

6. Spend Time with the People or Animals Most Important To You

People are social beings. It is important to keep social connections happening. Having a staycation can help you spend time with family, friends and beloved pets. Include them in your staycation and make it even more special.

7. Good for Your Mental Health and Well Being

It is a known fact that getting out, especially into the great outdoors, is good for your mental health. Connecting with nature is a great way to help your mental health. Connecting with other people and your pets is also good for your mental health. Taking a staycation will let you do these things and thus help your mental health and hopefully you will slow down and de-stress in the process.

8. No Panic During Emergencies

If any emergencies occur while you are out and about, you should know how to handle it. You will know who to call, what to do and where to go. In a foreign country, emergency numbers are different and you won’t know where to go or the procedure.

9. No Language Barriers

Having a staycation in your home country will mean you don’t have any language barriers. Unlike if you were travelling abroad such as in Europe where you can encounter a different language every couple of days.

10. Support the Locals

Lastly on my list of reasons to have a staycation, you are keeping money local. You will be supporting local businesses who are generally mum and dad businesses. That’s a good thing! Spend your money local and keep the local economy going. And you don’t have to worry about exchange rates either as your dollar, pound or Euro is worth a dollar, pound or Euro.

Where Will You Go for your Staycation?

There are many benefits for having a staycation. Less stress, planning time and cost savings. That doesn’t mean you still can’t plan and enjoy new overseas adventures, but sometimes a holiday at home is just as good!

Here’s Some Staycation Inspiration

Go on a Yoga Retreat or pamper yourself at a day spa.

Put the hiking boots on and go for a hike. Throw in some camping gear and have a weekend away.

Visit a few museums and discover something new.

Take a drive through a wine producing area and sample a few wines.

Spend the day at the beach.

So you are planning an international trip – how exciting, yet daunting! As a constant traveller I am always planning my next trip, whether that be an international trip or a weekend getaway. Sometimes, planning your trip can be overwhelming to plan, particularly when planning it from scratch. You need to choose your destination, know specific visa requirements, know what to pack plus so much more. I have written this post in the hope it helps to make your travel planning a little easier. I hope the following steps help how to plan an international trip from start to finish less stressful for you. Let’s start.

Step 1: Choose Your Destination

This is probably the best part, but also a stressful part as you choose your destination. You will probably have it in your mind where you want to go to, but I suggest you get yourself a map, either Google Maps or a physical printed map, sit down with a cup of coffee and look at the map. And become acquainted with your destination. From the map you can start listing the places you want to visit at your destination. Ask yourself some questions.

How much do you want or have to spend on your international trip?
How far do you want to go? A 2 hour flight or a 24 hour flight? Or how far do you want to sail?
Do you want to visit one spot or plan to do plenty of travelling around?
Am I eligible to go to my chosen destination? Remember, some countries still have covid-19 restrictions in place.
Are you travelling solo, in a couple or family? Is your destination safe?

Step 2: Start Budgeting for Your International Trip

It is great wanting to travel to places but ensure you can actually afford your international trip. This is where starting a budget comes in. I would include the following in my budget”. You can print this off and put in the amounts to give you a better idea of how much money is needed for your international trip.

Transport costs – $_____
Will this be plane, train, bus, car, etc? Or a combination of transport?

Accommodation costs – $______
Where will you be sleeping – hostels, hotels, etc. How many nights accommodation do you need

Visas costs – $______
Does your destination require you to obtain a visa for entry?

Activities – $______
What things do you want to do at your destination? Sky dive, bungee jump, water ski, snorkel, etc.

Insurance – $______
Don’t forget to budget for Insurance to cover you while on your holiday

Meals – $_______
Are meals included or will you need to buy them each day.

Spending money – $_______
Money to buy souvenirs and do incidental things.

Step 3: Requirements Needed to Enter Your Chosen Destination

You have completed step 1 and chosen your destination. Each country is different so you need to research their requirements so you can enter your chosen destination without too much difficulty. The first thing to check (at the moment) is if the country has any covid-19 restrictions and whether you need to meet them. Then find out if a visa is required to enter your destination. If so, find out what requirements are needed to apply for the visa and how much it will cost. Once again, each country has their own requirements. Some just require an empty passport book page while others want a visa stamped into your passport. I would be doing these things about 6-8 weeks before you leave in case there are any hold ups with the visa processing.

Step 4: Choose Activities and Design Your Own itinerary

Once you have chosen your destination you will be deciding on what activities you can undertake at your destination. For instance, I always like to do a Hop-on Hop-off Sightseeing tour of a big city as they take me to all the places to see and do. Then I can go back to the ones of interest and spend as long as I like there. I book these through GetYourGuide. And if there are specific places I know I already want to visit, I buy an entrance ticket in advance, once again through GetYourGuide so I can jump any queues. I did this when I wanted to go up the Eiffel Tower recently – and it saved me about an hour’s wait.

Once you know places you want to see, start allocating the time for the activity. As I said I like doing the Hop-on Hop-off Sightseeing bus. This usually takes about an hour, so that is my morning. Then I might have some lunch and then go back to a particular place I want to visit. For my visit to Paris, I spent the afternoon in The Louvre.

Step 5: Cultural Things Like Food to Discover

You don’t have to be a ‘foodie’ to enjoy the local foods. But trying the different foods of your international destination is a must. Why would you travel a long way and not try the local food! Paella in Spain. Pastries in France. Scorpian on a Stick in Asia. BBQ Ribs in Texas, USA. High Tea in England. I think you get the drift. Ask at your accommodation where good places are to eat. Decide also whether you will be eating out for all meals or only some. One way to save on food costs is by cooking your own while you travel.

Budget for cultural experiences when planning your trip from start to finish – French Pastries a must try!

Step 6: Book Your Flight and Other Transport

You’ve got your destination, perfecto! Now it is time to book your flight ticket. Before you book, you will want to ensure you are getting a good deal on your ticket. I use a number of different websites and apps to compare prices. These include Kiwi, Google Flights and Skyscanner. I have discovered it is important to search for tickets in a new incognito table on your computer or phone each time. This is so your searches cannot be tracked and the price be bumped up each time you do a search. Sometimes, after comparing prices I go directly to the airline to see what price they are offering. Whichever flight price is best and offers me the most flexibility, I will then book my ticket.

A plane ticket is usually not the only transport I book. But it depends on what I’m doing at my destination. Sometimes I go on an organised tour while other times I travel independently and hire a car. I can book these things at my destination but I often like to have these booked. That way, when I get off the plane, my transport should be waiting for me. If you want to rent a car I highly suggest RentalCars who have a wide range of cars available.

Step 7: Book Your Accommodation

You now have your destination chosen, booked your ticket and transport, and now you need to work out where to stay. The three questions about your accommodation is to ask yourself where to stay, what services do you need it to provide and how much it will cost.

Where to Stay – Try to stay in a safe part of town and a place that is close to all the attractions you want to see.

What Services do I want – Do you want a single room or don’t mind sharing? Do you need access to a kitchen and or free Wifi so you can work online or post to your socials?

The cost – What is your budget? Do you want a budget hostel or hotel, a mid-range room or splurge on a bit of luxury? Add it to your budget in Step 2. For great deals on hostels check out HostelWorld and for the other types of accommodation, Booking.com is my go-to.

Step 8: Get Packed

What you need to pack for your international holiday will depend on which country or countries you are visiting and what time of year. You will need different things for a summer holiday than you do for a winter holiday. Plus you need to consider cultural things like females need to cover your head with a scarf when entering mosques – therefore, pack a scarf. I have a written a few packing lists here. Once again, do a list of the things to pack. Then question yourself why you would need each item. Once you have all your items you will need to pack in appropriate luggage. So consider what type of travelling you will be doing. If going on a two-week beach resort holiday a suitcase on wheels will be fine. While a backpack is far easier to carry around if you will be travelling every couple of days.

Step 9: Cover Yourself for Mishaps and Accidents with Travel Insurance

Lastly, take out travel insurance. You just never know what might happen on your holiday. It could be lost luggage, you could slip over in wet weather or have a serious car accident. I know travel insurance is an extra expense, but it could just save you from losing thousands in other ways. There are many travel insurance companies offering travel insurance, so I suggest you shop around and find insurance that suits your travels. Ensure the policy covers you for what travel you are doing. So if going on a working holiday, be covered for that. If doing lots of activities like skiing, be covered for that. My go to travel insurance companies are World Nomads for general travel insurance and SafetyWing for longer term travel.

Are You Ready for Your International Trip?

Here I am in my garage doing my 8 quick vehicle checks before leaving on a road trip.

So you are heading off on a road trip. No matter how long you are going for, and the type of vehicle you are driving, before you hit the road it’s really worth your while to take 15 minutes to do eight quick vehicle checks. Why? Because there is nothing worse than breaking down and having to be towed because you ignored checking your vehicle before you left. I always undertake 8 quick vehicle checks before leaving on a road trip. I am no mechanic, but these checks help to maintain my car and provides me with confidence that it won’t break down when I hit the road. And here are the quick vehicle checks I do.

Why Check Your Car Before Leaving on a Road Trip?

Although you might think your car feels and sounds good to drive, it may not be! If you are planning to head off on a long road trip, it really is worth your while spending some time checking your car. The last thing you want is for your engine to overheat because it is not being cooled properly. Or have parts seizing up because of lack of oil! So undertake a few quick vehicle checks that will give you the confidence that your car is performing OK and is alright to go on a road trip. Even if it is a rental, and you would expect these things have been done, there is no harm is still doing them. When you have confidence in your vehicle you should have the confidence that your road trip won’t be hindered by unforeseen problems because you didn’t do these few essential checks. Without further ado, these are the checks I do on my vehicle before embarking on any long road trip.

Check the Oil Level of Your Vehicle

The first quick vehicle check I always do is to check the oil level. Oil is required in your car engine to keep all the parts lubricated and moving smoothly without overheating. Over time, the oil can break down and wear out – and so becomes less effective at keeping parts lubricated and cool. If you don’t have enough oil, parts can heat up and worse, seize up and stop working. So a simple check of the oil level can help your car keep going.

It is easy to check the oil. Lift the bonnet, take the top off the oil and take the level out. Wipe the level with a cloth or tissue and place the level back in the oil, wait a second or two, take the level back out and see how much oil is present. Read the reading – it should be above ‘minimum’. If you need more, put more in.

Every car needs oil and the type of oil needed for your car can be found in the owners handbook. If you are buying or hiring a car, the owners handbook is essential reading.

Check the Water and Coolant Level of Your Vehicle

The next important vehicle check is to the check the water and coolant level of your vehicle. The water and coolant in your engine keep the engine cool. If the engine became too hot it would stop. While water does help to keep your engine cool, it works way better with coolant. Why? Because water boils faster and at a lower temperature than coolant. You need the right level of coolant so it keeps your engine cool and keeps it from overheating.

To check the water and coolant level, look at the markings on the side of the plastic overflow bottle connected to the cooling system. The level should be between the ‘low’ and ‘high’ markings on the side. If the coolant level is low, add the appropriate amount of coolant.

Check the Water Level in the Washer Bottle for your Windscreen

While driving, you need a clear and unimpeded view through your windscreen. If you have a windscreen that is streaked with bugs, bird poo, mud, road grime or other gunk, you might miss seeing something dangerous. Having the appropriate level of water and washer fluid in your windscreen wiper bottle is imperative to wash your windows while driving.

Check the level and fill if required. Don’t overfill though. When your engine is going the water heats up and can overflow.

Check your Tyre’s Pressure and Tread

Another very important vehicle check on this list of vehicle checks is to check your vehicles tyres. Having the right tyre pressure helps you to brake properly and aids in fuel efficiency. If your tyre pressure is too low, it can distort your tyre’s footprint. Meaning, when your car’s tyre contacts the road the wear and tear on the tyre can increase dramatically – which means you will need to get new tyres more regularly.

On the other hand if your tyre pressure is too high, it can keep your tyres from having enough grip on the road – which can lead to the car ‘moving’ when it passes over bumps and potholes. To ensure a smooth ride, have the appropriate tyre pressure.

To check the tyre pressure, firstly find out what it is from the handbook and then get a tyre pressure reading. If it is too high, let some pressure out and if too low, simply put some air in.

TIP: Best to check the oil, water, coolant and tyres when the car is cool. Also, check and inflate your tyre pressure when the tyres are cold. You get a more accurate reading if you do. And don’t forget to check your spare tyre.

Also check the tyre tread. New tyres usually have a tread of 8-12 mm. The more tread you have, the better your tyre grips the road. In Australia the minimum standard amount of tread your tyres should have is 1.5mm. If it gets to this low you need new tyres and if you drive a car without any tread – apart from being plain dangerous – you can be fined.

Are Luggage Racks, Trailers and other Towables are Secure?

There is nothing worse than driving off and something falls off or out of your vehicle. Before you take off, ensure everything is secure – luggage, roof racks or boxes, bike racks and anything you are towing. You don’t want things moving around and making thumping noises.

Check your Vehicles Lights and Indicators

Driving without lights and indicators is just plain dangerous – and illegal. If driving at night ,you need to see the road. And without indicators other drivers don’t know what you are doing. So a quick check of these should be added to your check list.

Check your Emergency Road Side Tool Kit

Lastly, but not least, check your emergency road side kit. If you don’t have any, I would suggest you get some. Though you can’t pre-empt what might happen during your road trip, it is wise to have some tools that will enable you to fix minor problems. And even if you don’t know how to use them, hopefully someone may stop and help you. Some things to have include, but are not limited to:

Vehicle Owners Manual

Jumper Leads

Spare tyre, jack, tyre lever, pump and tyre gauge

First aid kit – in case you hurt yourself during repairs

Tool kit that can have things in it like – Work gloves, Vice grip, Socket, spanner and shifter set, Screwdriver with changeable bits, Regular and needle-nose pliers, Spark plugs, Light globes and fuses, WD40, Electrical Tape, Rags or an old towel, Parachute cord or rope, Extra fluids (small bottles of oil and coolant) for topping your vehicle

Water – for your vehicle and yourself.

Get Road Side Assistance

Joining, or updating roadside assistance is a good idea. You don’t know when something might happen and road side assistance can come to your assistance. Most, if not all of Australia’s road assistance work in conjunction with each other so if something happens in one state you should be able to get help in another. Recently I blew a tyre while driving to the Blue Mountains from Sydney in Australia. My roadside assistance is currently with RACV. I rang them and NRMA Roadside Assistance came to my rescue.

TIP: When packing for your road trip, pack a blanket as you never know when you might need to sleep in your car.

Check What You Might Be Towing

If you are towing something like a caravan or trailor or boat it is wise to check these also. Check the tyre pressure and add air if required. Check connections to your vehicle work and that lights and blinkers work when connected. Ensure everything is secure as with the wind created when driving you don’t want anything flapping around.

Is Your Vehicle Ready for a Road Trip?

Finally, I cannot recommend enough doing these eight quick vehicle checks before hitting the road. Of course, they do not replace a full car service but they can help to keep your car in good condition for your road trip. I do them before any road trip I undertake and I hope you do too. I would hate to see you on the side of the road somewhere! Happy road tripping.

How to do your laundry while travelling – visit a laundromat is one option

You probably haven’t thought about doing laundry while travelling, I know I don’t think about it until I actually have to do it! But you should give it some consideration during the planning of your trip. If you are just travelling for a week you can get away with not washing during your trip. A holiday any longer than a week, you should consider your options to get your clothes washed. While doing laundry while travelling may sound annoying, frustrating and so NOT exciting, it doesn’t have to be. From my years of travelling I have uncovered some tricks and tips that I’m going to share here to help doing laundry while travelling less of a chore.

Why do Laundry While Travelling?

I think this question has a pretty obvious answer. if your clothes get dirty or smelly you will want to freshen them up, right? But you may also be thinking “Why would I want to do laundry while on holiday?’. Well, it will depend on how long you are travelling for and how many clothes you have with you. If you are holidaying for only a week, as I mentioned before, you could get away with not washing. It is when your holiday becomes longer than a week that you will need to freshen them up. No-one wants to sit next to a smelly person on that long bus or train trip, right? So here are some options to wash your clothes while travelling.

Have a Dedicated Laundry Bag for Dirty Clothing

This goes without saying, keep your dirty clothes separately from clean clothes. This way, when it is time to do laundry you can find your dirty clothes quickly. I suggest having a specific bag or a packing cube to keep your dirty washing in. This set of packing cubes has a laundry bag included in its set.

I have seen many a traveller wash their dirty laundry in the sink at their accommodation. Particularly when they are on a jam packed travel schedule like on a tour. It is a good option if you don’t have much to wash or have the time to wash and want to ensure your smaller items such as underwear, socks and the like are clean. Washing these clothes in the sink, leaving them out to dry overnight and hoping they will be dry in the morning is a good way to save money on doing laundry when travelling. To wash my clothes in the sink in my accommodation I ensure I travel with the following things:

Take Advantage of hostel/hotel Laundry Services

If your hostel or hotel has a laundry service, don’t hesitate to use it. Although it can be a little on the expensive side, it can be worth it. By using the service, that usually includes washing, drying, hanging, ironing or folding your clothes you can do something else while your laundry is being done. Generally, the laundry will take about 24 hours to be done so ensure you allow this time in your travel plans so you get your clean clothes back before you check out.

Find a Laundromat

Simple, find a laundromat in the city you are in and get your clothes washed and dry. Not always as simple as it sounds. First, you need to find a laundromat and that can be hard in a new city where you don’t speak the language. Check out Google Maps to find the nearest laundromat in your area. Typically, public laundromats offer self-service however, sometimes there is staff and you can pay to have them do your laundry for you. The do-it-yourself model of laundromat is cheaper but you will need coins to operate the machines and detergent, like the eco strips mentioned above. You will also need coins for the dryer. The biggest delay by doing washing your clothes in the laundromat is the time. But what is an hour or two out of your day!

Book Accommodation with a Washing Machine

For a long term stay, an Airbnb or apartment can be a great option to help you do your laundry as it should have a washing machine. Check the listing of services of the property before you book. With access to a washing machine you will be able to wash whenever you want. And having access to the amenities will ensure you will still have a wonderful holiday, doing laundry or not! This is often my preferred option as I work and travel and live out of my luggage for weeks on end. Check out Booking.com for accommodation with a washing machine so you can do your washing while travelling.

Pack Clothes that require less Washing and Drying

People often say pack cotton clothes because the material breathes better, however, it is not fast drying. You may want to pack clothes made from fabrics that dry quickly and don’t need to be washed often. Or pack clothes that you don’t wash after every wear or two like denim jeans or woollen jumper.

Carry and Use a Travel Laundry Wash Bag

Travel wash bags are an all-in-one solution to doing your laundry while travelling. They are ideal for small items, like a load of underwear that you can throw in the wash bag, and wash the clothes in the comfort of your hostel or hotel room. The Scrubba Portable Wash Bag is one of my personal favourites. It is a simply DIY solution and doesn’t take up much room in my luggage either.

If you have read posts on my website, you might have noticed the name ‘GetYourGuide‘ popping up. If you don’t know what it is, it’s about time that you do! So without further ado, let me introduce you to GetYourGuide and the benefits of buying travel tours and activities from it. You can thank me later!

For the record, this is not a sponsored post, but it does contain affiliate links to GetYourGuide. If you purchase from GetYourGuide links in this post, I will earn a small commission at no extra cost to you Read my full disclosure here.

What is GetYourGuide?

Before the internet, booking onto a tour or activity depended on the knowledge of your travel agent or the concierge at your hotel. Now, I would be very surprised if you have not used apps and websites to book flights, accommodation, car rides and loads of other things before. Pretty much everything can be bought online these days – as long as you have the appropriate website or app. GetYourGuide is an easy to use online booking engine for activities, attractions and tours. When I last checked, they listed over 35,000 activities in 7,440 destinations! There are detailed descriptions including pertinent information about the level of fitness required, tour inclusions and the cancellation policy. There are also reviews by tour participants to help you decide if the tour or attraction is for you. Overall, GetYourGuide is your link to having great experiences during your travels.

History of GetYourGuide

The ‘About Us’ page on the GetYourGuide website was founded by four classes Johannes, Tao, Martin, and Tobias in 2009. It was born from when one of the four arrived early on a trip to Beijing. Like I did once when I arrived in London, he arrived not knowing where to go or what to do. And as a result the idea for a platform that gathers activities across the world and puts them all in one place had its humble beginnings. The result is a place, where you can book activities, experiences, tours and entrance tickets into literally thousands of things to see and do around the world.

Services Offered by GetYourGuide

Here are some of the services offered on GetYourGuide.

Sightseeing tours

Nature and Adventure

Attraction Entrance Tickets

Local culture

Food and Drink options

Boat tours

Day trips

Transportation

City cards

Hop-on hop-off buses

How to Use GetYourGuide

To use GetYourGuide simply go to the website or download the app on your device. Once you have done this, type in the city you want to experience, your dates and see the wonderful experiences that pop up. For instance, I typed in Melbourne, Australia and there are plenty of options of places I can visit. Or you can search for specific activities by typing in a few letters, such as sailing tours of Greece. And then you can check the availability of the option before booking it through a secure booking system. With my booking confirmed, it means when I arrive at the venue, I can jump the payment que. You do not need to print anything out because it is safely kept on your device. Simply access it when you arrive to start your tour or activity.

Easily book tours and activities online

Does GetYourGuide run the tours?

GetYourGuide is not a tour company, but is a platform that lists tour operators. They collect a commission when tours are sold. To find out who is the operator running the tour, scroll to the bottom of the list where it should be mentioned.

Benefits of Using GetYourGuide

There are some benefits from using GetYourGuide to book your travel experiences having some 35,000 activities in 7,440 destinations.

GetYourGuide has been in existence since 2009 and are a trusted service provider.

They provide a platform offering a seamless booking process.

If you change your mind, there is free cancellation up to 24 hours before your activity starts for a full refund.

The biggest benefit is having loads of inspiration at your fingertips and a ticket to a great experience.

Once you have decided on your tour, all your documents are in one place online.

Final Thoughts on GetYourGuide

I have been using GetYourGuide for a couple of years now to book my travel experiences and I have experienced seamless bookings, followed by great experiences. GetYourGuide is a fantastic travel booking app and website, and one you should make good use of. If you have used GetYourGuide to book your travel experiences, I would love to hear in the comments following.

Can’t travel due to lockdown or quarantine restrictions? Well you aren’t alone. If you can’t travel far, why not consider having a staycation. A staycation is a vacation that you take in your own neighbourhood, city or country. It could be for a weekend, a week or longer. Sounded ridiculous to me at first, but then I started thinking about it. There is plenty to see and do in my local area. And when I can’t get away and want to spend thousands of dollars on getting away, a staycation sounds pretty darn good. So if you are interested in your own holiday at home here is my guide on how to plan the perfect staycation.

Why Do You Need A Staycation?

Because we all need a break, right! That’s why you need a staycation.

How Do You Take a Staycation?

Treat your staycation like a vacation. Go through all the steps involved in planning a vacation for your staycation and it will start to feel like you will be going on a holiday. Just what you need!

Schedule It

Just like any holiday you need to do some planning. Start by scheduling your staycation into your life. Get out a calendar or your diary and decide on when you will have your staycation. Pencil it in and start getting excited about your staycation every time you think about it. Avoid making any other commitments during the time you have decided on your staycation.

Do Some Research and Write an Itinerary

Start researching your staycation destination to find out what events might be occurring and what there is to see and do. Even if you have been to a place before, rediscover it. Then write yourself up an itinerary including food stops. Research what coffee shops are available for breakfast and don’t forget a restaurant you may have heard about it.

Book Some Accommodation

Booking accommodation will make the whole staycation feel more like a special time. Treat yourself and the person or persons that might be taking the staycation with you. Why not book a swanky hotel in the city, or maybe request a room with a beach view. Have breakfast included that will be delivered to your room. Spoil yourself a little. Book your staycation now. For rates and availability of your chose staycation destination check out Booking.com.

Become a Tourist in Your Own City

While on your staycation take the time to become a tourist in your own city. Visit places that you may have always thought only tourist’s visit like museums to learn about the local area. Visit the museum and discover what your local area is famous for and why it was founded. Or maybe think food and wine tour and discover local produce in your area. If there are free tours around your town, why not take one. Have your camera or camera phone ready to take shots of different places from a tourist perspective. And get yourself in the photos. The photos will be great momentos of your staycation. And why not buy yourself a little souvenir of your staycation to remember this special time.

Go Off Grid and Relax

One of the key elements to a perfect staycation is to disconnect and relax. So if you don’t want to be a tourist in your own town then turn off your phone and Ignore emails and messages. Do a social media detox. Make your best effort to embrace the present moment by slowing down and enjoying what is around you. Relax. Breathe in the air. Take the opportunity on your staycation to do some relaxing things. Sleep in late and have breakfast in bed. Lounge around and read a book or a magazine. Join a yoga class. Go for a swim or sauna if your accommodation has these available. Indulge in a high tea or a meal at a new restaurant. But most importantly devote the time to yourself and discover how relaxing your staycation could be.

Take a New and Different Mode of Transport

Your staycation is a time to do something different so why not find a new way to get around. Why not get around on a bike, in the bus, on the train or tram or just walk. I have always enjoyed riding public transport as it is a convenient and cheap way to get around town. If time is not on my side I often go on the local tourist hop-on hop-off bus. I not only get great insights to where I am but I usually learn something new.

Try a New Coffee Shop or Restaurant

It is always a good cultural travel experience to try some of the local food. And your staycation destination probably has some hidden gems you may have never experienced or haven’t experienced for quite a while. So try a different food in a new coffee shop or restaurant maybe in a different neighbourhood or on the other side of town. It will probably be something you will remember from your staycation. If you don’t want to go out then create a great dish at your accommodation using local ingredients picked up from a market. Make the meal memorable.

Cross Something Off Your Bucket List

If you have a unique activity on the top of your bucket list why not try to do it on your staycation. Always wanted to visit Niagara Falls? Well I’m sure there will be a waterfall closer to you that you could enjoy. If you want to hike the Apalacian Trail, I’m sure there is a hike closer. Want to camp under the stars on an island but can’t get to an island, set up in your backyard. Want to Eurail through Europe, maybe take a local train ride. Whatever is on your bucket list go crazy with it and create staycation memories.

So I hope you have got some inspiration and are now ready to start planning your staycation. If you are planning or have already done a staycation what tips would you add to this list? Let me know in the comments below.
