4 Types of Traveling Jobs: Which Is For You?
There are different types of working traveller. The type of work abroad travel jobs available can depend on the type of working traveller you are or want to be. There are:
- Backpacker jobs: People that head overseas on a working holiday to a specific country. Check out which countries have a working holiday visa here. And working holiday makers pick up typical hands-on work abroad travel jobs or ‘backpacker jobs’ as they travel. This is mostly for those aged 18-30 (sometimes 35 years of age). If you are over 30 – read this.
- Jobs that require travel: Individuals who choose a particular type of work abroad travel job to take them around the world, like working on a cruise ship or teaching English in a specific country. These type of jobs don’t have age limits as they prefer qualified and/or experienced people.
- Expat jobs: People who are transferred overseas by their company and become an expat in another country.
- Digital nomad jobs – Remote worker jobs: Travellers who work online and become a remote worker or a digital nomad and work from anywhere. You can work online from your home base and then travel. Or you could live in a van and move around your own country, or another.
